UPSC Civil Services Prelims
Real questions.
Official answers.
Nothing invented.
Practise on the questions UPSC actually asked, scored against the answer key UPSC itself published, and marked exactly as the exam marks you.
Free. No account needed to read this.
The same arithmetic as the exam. A skip costs you nothing — which is why knowing when to skip is worth marks.
01The problem
Twelve months of preparation.
One day of feedback.

You read for a year. You sit the paper for two hours. Then you wait, and what eventually arrives is a number.
Not which topics let you down. Not which of your guesses were worth making and which quietly cost you a mark and a third. Not whether the reading you did was the reading you needed. A number, and a year you cannot have back.
You should be able to find that out on a Tuesday, not in a result.

What you can use right now
Real previous-year questions
Taken verbatim from UPSC Civil Services Prelims General Studies Paper I, sourced from publicly available official archives. We did not write them.
Official answer keys
Every question is scored against the answer key UPSC itself published. Where no official key exists, the question is not here.
Real exam marking
+2 for a correct answer, −0.67 for a wrong one, 0 for a skip. The same arithmetic the exam uses, so your score means what you think it means.
Explanations, immediately
The explanation appears the moment you answer — not at the end of the session, and not behind a subscription.

What comes next
Rated 1-v-1 duels
Two aspirants, the same questions, at the same time, with a rating that moves when you are right and when you are not.
This is being built. It does not exist yet, you cannot use it today, and nothing described further up this page depends on it. When it opens, the waitlist is how you will hear.
04The waitlist
Rated duels are coming. Join the waitlist.
One email address and one question. We will write to you when rated 1-v-1 duels open, and not before.
05Objections
Questions you are probably asking
Is this free?
Everything available on CollectorX today is free to use. Deeper analysis and learning tools are planned as paid additions later — the previous-year question practice is not what we intend to charge for. We would rather say that plainly now than surprise you later.
Are the questions real?
They are UPSC's own. Taken verbatim from Civil Services Prelims General Studies Paper I, sourced from publicly available official archives, and scored against the answer key UPSC itself published. We did not write the questions and we did not decide the answers.
Is this a distraction from serious study?
A fair question to ask of anything that is not a book. What this does is put you under real exam marking on questions the exam actually asked, and tell you immediately what you got wrong and why. If it replaces your reading, it is a poor trade. If it replaces the scrolling between your reading, it is a good one.
When do the rated duels arrive?
They are being built now. We are not naming a date we cannot keep. Join the waitlist and you will hear from us when duels open — and not before then.
